Plumbing

The plumbing system in a house can be made of a variety of materials.  The standard today is PVC but there are several new systems that have been introduced to the market.  On the same note, many older houses still have the same old cast iron, copper, or lead pipe that was installed when the house was built.  It is critical that the plumbing system remains in good condition due to the fact that when there is a problem, it usually creates a big mess or even worse, a lot of costly damage.

In these two photos you can see how much damage a leaking pipe can cause.  The sub floor was severely damaged due to a water supply valve that failed.  There were no other visible signs of this leak from the inside of the house and the owner was not aware of the problem.
