The HVAC system in a house plays a very important role in keeping you comfortable.  There many different types of systems with there own unique sets of advantages and disadvantages.  During the inspection we will be checking oil and gas furnaces, AC and heat pump air handler and compressors and also the duct work they supply.  With oil and gas furnaces, we will be checking for proper venting, exhaust gas leaks, and combustion air separation.

Here we show an AC Compressor unit that has vegetation growing around it.  This can severely restrict the air flow the unit needs to operate efficiently.

Here is an example of the flex duct not connected to the ceiling register.  This will prevent the air from getting to the according room.

Here we see the supply and return flex ducts of a combination unit where they enter the foundation.  This type of duct is susceptible to rodents and other animals that can easily get through the thin plastic lining of flex duct and need to be protected.
